Our Home Base

Built in 1842 as a one-room school, the “Old Schoolhouse” returns to its educational roots as home to the Art School of Columbia County.


What’s new at the art school?

Classes for Adults: all summer classes are open for registration.

Gallery exhibit: "The Exquisite Line: the Work of Maj Kalfus & HM Saffer, II."  Opening reception Saturday June 25  5-7 pm.  On exhibit until August 11.

Programs for Children in Schools and Libraries: Join us for our free grades K-12 Art in the Library Programs in libraries throughout Columbia County and beyond.   We are delighted to announce we have received new funding for programs in the Nassau Library through a Stewart's Holiday Match Grant and programs for grades K-1 in the Kinderhook School District (Ichabod Crane) through a grant from the Kinderhook Arts & Humanities Fund of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation.
