What is fiber art? Is it stitched or woven? Flat or sculptural? Quilted, knitted, dyed? Textile Art often takes on a personal meaning beyond the literal use of the materials. In this class we will be taking a meditative and intuitive approach to hand stitching and using needle and thread as an artistic medium. We will learn basic stitch techniques, and make small sewn works using textiles, found objects, and stitching as mark-making, for a piece of personal expression. This class is limited in size.
