The tendency to perceive images, in clouds for example, is called ‘pareidolia’. This idea demonstrates the power of imagination, which we will explore using materials such as acrylic and charcoal. These images may be fantasy monsters, animals, or patterns but each person perceives these hidden images in their own way. Using techniques from artists of the past who have worked in this way such as Redon, Chagall, and Picasso, will help us to uncover images trapped in the subconscious and brought into the conscious world.
