Abstracting the Landscape / From Realism to Abstraction: with Tim Ebneth

Thursdays 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. June 30 – August 4
$325 non-members, $277 members

This class will explore painting the landscape through photographs and life studies while examining what makes a work of art abstract, realistic or somewhere in between. Each week, we will deconstruct the representational landscape until we realize an abstracted image. The formal principles of art – line, form, value, movement, composition, color, shape, etc. will be emphasized as we transition our works into abstraction. Weekly homework exercises will assist in furthering your understanding. The class is open to students with some painting experience.
