Always wanted to create art and looking for where to start? “Art for Everyone” is offered in three sessions – you may enroll in one or all. Thursday evenings from 6 pm – 9 pm, starting February 1 with ASCC faculty member Sayzie Carr.
Try a different approach to creativity: “Into Abstraction: Watercolor & More” taught by ASCC faculty member Arlene Santana Thornton from 10 am – 4 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2018. Students will try new ways of expressing abstraction using water-based media. Up-cycle and reclaim found materials to meld narrative into your own unique artist’s books with ASCC faculty member Nancy Kohler in “Book & Narrative “, 6 pm – 9 pm Monday, January 22. Try a freeing approach to drawing with ASCC faculty member Tim Ebneth in “Think BIG: Oversized Drawing” on three Thursdays from 10 am – 1 pm, starting January 25. Combine textiles with mixed-media techniques to explore fiber art with ASCC faculty member Sayzie Carr in “Textile Collage” on Saturday, February 10 from 10 am – 3 pm. Learn about low-relief sculpture and mixed media techniques with ASCC faculty member Tim Ebneth during “Bas Relief Assemblage & Mixed Media” class, from 6 pm – 9 pm on Mondays, February 26 and March 5.
Explore the stark beauty of the landscape this winter. Join us in “Winter Greens” as we investigate the rich colors and textures of evergreen trees using mixed media with ASCC faculty member Sara Pruiksma on Saturday, January 27 from 10 am – 2 pm. Embrace the shorter days in “Twilight: Winter Landscapes” with ASCC faculty member Tim Ebneth two Mondays, January 29 and February 5 from 6 pm – 9 pm. Learn how to capture the dynamic colors and textures of clouds and water with “Sea & Sky: Oil or Acrylic” on Saturday, February 3 from 10 am – 3 pm with ASCC faculty member Eileen Murphy.
