This workshop offers beginning and intermediate artists a bucolic, pastel plein air experience on site at the Thomas Cole National Historic Site. This Hudson River historic site and artist’s home lends itself to what plein air is all about. David Lesako, who is a practicing professional artist and teaches at the ASCC, will provide and guide you with how best to capture the composition of this plein air setting with the use of dry pastels as a medium. Students will work at their own pace with David’s guidance and will have an opportunity to create as many as three pieces during the time frame of the workshop. Students participating in this workshop will have time to visit the gallery at The Thomas Cole National Historic Site at the end of the workshop. Students will receive a small supply list upon registering for the workshop.
