Paper Marbling Workshop with Ulrike Grannis

Saturday and Sunday, July 23 and July 24 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
$190 non-members, $162 members, with a $25 materials fee

Paper Marbling is an ancient art that originated in Asia and Europe. It is a method of fluid surface design, which can produce patterns similar to smooth marble or similar types of stone. The patterns are the result of paints or ink floated on a water-based “ground” and then carefully transferred to an absorbent surface, such as paper or fabric. In this workshop, you will have opportunities to delve into this hands-on, immersive experience. You will use acrylic colors and handmade “Lokta” paper. This workshop experience will have you creating several pieces of your own marbled paper.
