Carrying on the art making traditions of cave -peoples through their use of sticks, bones and leaves, and with the Egyptians use of crushed reeds and animal hair….. today we have all forms of tools for art making. Tools were viewed as holy objects that carried magical powers in making pictures and marks. This workshop will be an exploration in making one of a kind brushes and tools created by using found and everyday materials. Your hand made objects can be used to create your own magical stories. The first day will be focused on making your brushes and tools and on the the second day the tools will be used to make abstract art on various types of paper. Open to all levels, no prior art experience needed.
