The Art School of Columbia County, a nonprofit community art school, seeks a responsible and enthusiastic person who has a love for the arts and arts education. This position involves about 50% of contact time with the public and 50% administrative work. The position will have the key responsibility of interacting with and answering questions from students and the public, assisting ASCC with class logistics, and ensuring that ASCC’s safety practices and other policies are implemented during class time. This position will also assist with receptions, art exhibits, art programs, and administrative tasks at ASCC.
The ideal candidate will have a background with the visual arts and enjoy welcoming and working with people. Attention to detail, prioritization, proof-reading skills and good organizational skills are highly desired, plus the ability to meet deadlines, follow through on projects, and contribute as part of a hard-working team.
This position has the potential to develop and grow specific strength areas of a highly-motivated and qualified candidate, including non-profit/arts coordination, arts publicity, and community outreach.

The Art School of Columbia County, a nonprofit community art school, seeks new faculty for teaching fine art classes to adults and older teens at the Old Schoolhouse. We are also seeking highly talented instructors for our innovative Art on Wheels programs who enjoy the challenges of working in varied settings, and teaching and working with a broad range of people from our community. This outreach program involves teaching children grades K-12 throughout Columbia County, and working with the elderly and special needs groups. Please note that teaching at ASCC is part-time employment.
We seek faculty with:
- a strong record of professional study and/or exhibiting achievement
- a desire to work as part of the teaching faculty of a nonprofit organization
- a background in teaching or strong interest in developing teaching skills
- a desire to work independently and collaboratively to further the Art School’s mission
