The Art School of Columbia County ASCC announces a call for artwork exploring its 2018 programming theme: “Migration, Movement, and Memory.” Artists over age 18 living within 100 miles of Ghent NY are invited to submit artwork for consideration by a panel of jurors. Works will be selected for artistic merit and how they relate to the theme. The jury panel includes Rachel Fainter, Gallery Manager at Jack Shainman Gallery | The School (Kinderhook NY), Kathryn Kosto, Executive Director of ASCC, and Anna Thompson, Curator, Columbia County Historical Society (Kinderhook NY).
More information and how to apply is here. The deadline for entries is February 15, 2018. Application is free to ASCC members and $8 for non-members. Work in the exhibit will be used as part of an interactive program on Saturday, April 14, “Slow Art Day,” an international day held to promote mindfulness and deep engagement with art in museums and educational institutions, and the reception is the same day from 5- 7 pm. The reception is free and open to the public and refreshments are served.
